That’s A Wrap!

March 31, 2008

Thank you to everyone who came to see Dean and Matt perform this weekend!

“Double Entendre” was a success.  We sold out Friday night’s show.  And Saturday night was a near-sell-out.

We enjoyed performing for you all!

We’ll update the blog when we perform again.

Meanwhile, both Dean and Matt — and several other cabaret singers — will perform a variety of standards and show tunes at the third CHAWbaret on April 18 & 19.

Dean and Matt attended cabaret singer Karen Akers’ opening night last evening at Signature Theatre.  She sang a show dedicated to the songs of Kander & Ebb.

Dean and Matt are actually singing a few K&E songs in “Double Entendre”, so it was interesting to see what Ms. Akers did with them.

“Double Entendre”, meanwhile, is a little over 2 weeks away, and Matt & Dean are rehearsing and preparing for the 2 night run.  Reservations are coming in, and so far it seems like Saturday night is going to be the most attended performance.

See you all there!

Catch Dean and Matt performing individual songs at this year’s DC Cabaret Network Member Showcase.

Other performers in the show are: Davey Brown, Emily Leatha Everson, Jill Leger, Kate McCann, Gita Morris, Barbara Papendorp, Mary Reilly, Justin Ritchie, Michael Sazonov, and Eileen Warner.

Music direction is by Alex Tang.

See you next week at the Arts Club of Washington, Sunday, 10 February at 7:00pm. $10 General / $5 DCCN Member.

Dean and Matt are performing in the upcoming D.C. Cabaret Network (DCCN) Member Showcase, at The Arts Club on Sunday, February 10th.

More info about this performance can be found at the DCCN’s blog.

They’ll each have separate performance spots in the show.

Matt and Dean were in the audience watching last year’s Member Showcase and we both agree it is a fantastic night where, in one sitting, you get to see a cross-section of D.C.’s cabaret talent. We’re both excited that, this year, we get to be on stage performing.

Dean and Matt agree that this short performance opportunity will be a great “warm up” for our show in March!
