“Last night Dean and I were both at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) for the first rehearsal of CHAWbaret III, which will be performed April 18-19. It looks like a great line-up of performers this time. There’s some new, very talented faces that have not performed in previous CHAWbarets.
While we were there, Dean and I went downstairs to the Black Box theater where we are performing our show, “Double Entendre”. It was exciting to be in the space and imagine ourselves on that stage. We worked out some technical details last night while we were there — where to place the piano, for instance, so that our Musical Director, Elisa, can see us and play at the same time. It sounds like an innocuous problem to solve, but it’s important. If Elisa (and piano) are too far back, then we lose connection with her. And Elisa needs to be able to see us for cues, etc. So we spent 10 or 15 minutes figuring out the best placement for the piano. Details! Details!

Matt and Dean performed tonight at the D.C. Cabaret Network Member Showcase. A good time was had by all … It was a veritable potpourri of performers singing different songs and styles.

Catch Dean and Matt performing individual songs at this year’s DC Cabaret Network Member Showcase.
Other performers in the show are: Davey Brown, Emily Leatha Everson, Jill Leger, Kate McCann, Gita Morris, Barbara Papendorp, Mary Reilly, Justin Ritchie, Michael Sazonov, and Eileen Warner.
Music direction is by Alex Tang.
